Embassy celebrates Jamhuri Day  14/12/2010

The Kenyan Embassy in Brussels celebrated Jamhuri Day on Friday 10 December 2010 at the Palais de Colonies in Tervuren. The highly successful event was attended by over 400 guests, including Belgian officials, representatives from the ACP Countries and the EU, members of the Belgian business community, and the Kenyan Diaspora living in Belgium and Luxembourg.

His Excellency Mr. Kembi-Gitura, Kenya’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and to the European Union, gave the keynote address at the function.  In his address, the Ambassador talked of major milestones that Kenya has achieved over the last year, such as the adoption of the new constitution and its implementation. He also talked of the economic growth the country is experiencing at the moment, and the position of Kenya in the region.
