'A Shadow Falls', a photo exhibition by Nick Brandt 19/07/2010
The exhibition "A Shadow Falls" continues Nick Brandt's ambitious and ongoing photographic project to memorialize the vanishing natural grandeur of East Africa, his wide-screen panoramas of animals and landscapes capturing an epic vision of Africa not seen before. His photos portray a mythic Africa struggling against tragic forces, and in years to come, we will look back at his powerful photographs and wonder why humanity did not do more to preserve this rare corner of earthly paradise.
The exhibition is running from 7 July to 19 September 2010 at the Young Galary in Knokke. The vernissage will be on Friday 6 August 2010, from 19.00 to 23.00, and will be attended by a representative from the Kenyan Embassy. All Kenyans who wish to see their home country in a new light, and all Belgians vacationing at the seaside who have fond memories of Kenya or would like to visit it sometime, are invited to the exhibition.
