  • ACP and ACP-EU Council of Ministers Meeting in Dakar 03/05/2016

    Hon. Mohammed at conferenceForeign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Hon. Amb. (Dr.) Amina Mohammed and H.E. Johnson Weru, Kenya’s Ambassador to the EU, attended meetings of the 103rd Session of the Council of Ministers of the African, Caribbean & Pacific Group of States (ACP) and the 41st Session of the ACP-EU Council of Ministers, held in Dakar, Senegal, on 25-29 April 2016. 

    On behalf of the East Africa Community (EAC), Hon. Mohammed gave a status report on the EAC-EU Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs).  She also contributed in exchange of views on the future perspectives of the ACP-EU partnership, as per the current Cotonou Agreement which comes to an end in 2020.

    Hon. Mohammed further briefed the African ministers attending the session on the status of preparations for the upcoming UNCTAD (UN Conference on Trade & Development) and TICAD-VI (Tokyo International Conference on Development) conferences, to be held in Nairobi respectively on 17-22 July 2016 and on  27-28 August 2016.

    Hon. Mohammed and Amb. Weru with Senegalese PresidentHon. Mohammed exchanged views on Kenya-Senegal relations with Senegalese president Hon. Macky Sall, especially on full implementation of bilateral agreements. She further extended a special message from H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta to President Sall on an invitation for a state visit to be made to Kenya .
