MFA chief urges involvement Diaspora in national development 19/06/2015
In a "Daily Nation" article, Dr. Karanja Kibicho, the Principal Secretary of the Kenyan Foreign Affairs ministry, urges Kenya to fully embrace the benefits which the Kenyan diaspora can bring to national growth. The current diaspora has a wealth of expertise, skill and talent, and is proactively building bridges with the homeland.
Dr. Kibicho reiterates that the diaspora has an important role to play in driving investment in the priority economic sectors, and that the govenrment should tap this human resource in its response to the war on terrorism and to get tourism back on its feet.
He further points out that diaspora associations will be critically important to enhance national development and the impact of global issues on Kenya.
