  • Kenyan National Defence College (NDC) on Study Tour to Belgium 19/05/2015

    NDC delegation at Royal Military AcademyA high-level delegation from the Kenyan National Defence College (NDC) visited the Kingdom of Belgium on a study tour from 19 to 26 April 2015. The visit by senior officers from security agencies and security-related government departments of the Republic of Kenya and other friendly African countries, undertaking a course at NDC, was part of the curriculum.

    The study tour aimed at enhancing and deepening the officers’ understanding of security, stability and prosperity, and its implication on development of the Kingdom of Belgium, with the lessons learnt envisaged to inform the officers’ engagements with policy, among other issues.

    NDC visit to NATOThe delegation of fourteen officers, led by Brigadier John Waweru, and also Kenya Embassy officials, led by H.E. Amb. Johnson Weru, met and exchanged views with senior Belgian authorities. The team also visited the European Parliament, where they held discussions with the Committee responsible for security matters, in addition to select strategic institutions and industries in Belgium.

    At the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, the delegation was briefed on a wide range of issues, anchored on Kenya’s and Belgium’s shared rich history and strong bond in areas of security and economic development.
