Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs & Intern. Trade visits Belgium 17/07/2014
The Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Dr. Eng. Karanja Kibicho, CBS, made a working tour to the Kenyan Embassy from 14 to 16 July 2014. The objective of the working tour was to meet key partners in Kenya-European Union trade and development facilitation, as well as initiate talks on expanding markets for Kenya’s products. The talks were also aimed at securing government-to-government credit financing, to enable the Kenyan government to provide machinery and other essential equipment to Kenyan farmers, enterprises and businesspersons.
During the working tour, the Principal Secretary visited Packo Inox milk cooling premises, the Molenbergnatie coffee warehouse, Soulco Holdings and the Port of Antwerp. The Principal Secretary also paid a courtesy call on his counterpart at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Dirk Achten.
Dr. Kibicho further paid a courtesy call on the Assistant Secretary-General responsible for Macroeconomics, Development Finance and Intra-ACP programmes of the African, Caribbean & Pacific Group of States (ACP). Finally, Dr. Kibicho engaged IGAD Ambassadors based in Brussels during a working lunch, to discuss the security situation in the Horn of Africa region.
