Meeting with AKDBL Officials 06/06/2014
The Embassy welcomed the newly elected officials of the Association of Kenyans in Belgium and Luxembourg (AKDBL) and the former Interim officials to the Chancery on 30 May 2014. The election to various posts in the Association was held on 24 May 2014 in Brussels through a well-organized process. It was as a result of an ongoing process which began in December 2013, inviting Kenyans to nominate their officials. It was at the meeting where the Embassy and AKDBL officials reflected on the journey the diaspora organization begun several years back. The Embassy extended its congratulations to the individuals involved in its realization.
Further to the above, the diaspora officials were congratulated for their commitment to serve their fellow compatriots and were urged to look for innovative ways to promote and project Kenya in Belgium and Luxembourg. Initial discussions focused on various initiatives and programmse of work that the Diaspora intends to achieve. It is to this end that the Embassy reiterated its support towards efforts that will shine the light of Kenya.
