  • Promoting Golf Tourism in Kenya  15/01/2010

In an interview with the Belgian Trends magazine, Ambassador Kembi- Gitura said that for Belgians, tourism to Kenya has for a long time been restricted to safaris, a perception he would like to change in the golfing world. He said that his aim is to promote interest for high level active vacations as a pleasant way to discover Kenya's wealth and tap into the economic possibilities. He observed that Kenya has 39 courses, of which 12 are championship courses across the Rift Valley, within and bordering Nairobi and along the Indian Ocean between Mombasa and Malindi. One can play in all types of settings - plains, mountains, and seaside, all year round in the sun. Moreover, Kenya is a mere eight hour flight away from Brussels with a time difference only two hours.
