HELB calls for loan repayments 30/08/2013
The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) wishes to inform Kenyans in the diaspora that loan recoveries have increased, the recently concluded amnesty campaign having yielded 620 million KSh.
Financing higher education students in Kenyan universities ultimately provides Kenya with the requisite human capital for the successful implementation of Vision 2030. However, one of HELB’s challenges is that there are about 89,000 loanees holding about 10.6 billion KSh, which continues to constrain its efforts towards universal higher education funding. HELB, therefore, urges Kenyans abroad to repay their loan, in support of needy students.
