Ambassador Kembi-Gitura planted trees in honour of the late Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Prof. Wangari Maathai in the back garden of the Ambassador’s Residence on Thursday 26 July 2012. The Prof. Wangari Maathai tree and its plaque stand in clear view for all visitors and represents Kenya’s continued efforts towards environmental sustainability.

The Green Belt Movement challenged ordinary people, you and me, to assume responsibility to protect our environment.
